About Us

Meet the team behind Lorenz Developments, a family-owned general contractor built on craftsmanship, honest communication and lasting relationships.

Serving the Sea to Sky Since 2005.

Lorenz Developments was founded by Jason and Shannon Lorenz. Long before he built homes, Jason was building bike trails and crafting furniture, discovering a passion for craftsmanship that would eventually lead him into construction.

Like many small businesses, Lorenz Developments began with one truck, one project and a lot of hard work. Jason drove from job site to job site building relationships and earning opportunities, while Shannon introduced the company the old-fashioned way by going door to door throughout Squamish with a stack of business cards.

Within a few years, Jason's reputation for quality workmanship, reliability and integrity had spread throughout the Sea to Sky Corridor and Lorenz Developments continued to grow.

Today, Lorenz Developments is a trusted general contracting company serving homeowners, businesses, strata corporations, and insurance partners across the Sea to Sky Corridor. From custom homes and renovations to commercial, strata, and restoration projects, our team remains committed to exceptional craftsmanship, honest communication and relationships built to last.

Shannon Lorenz
Co-Founder & Director of Strategy

Shannon co-founded Lorenz Developments with Jason and has played a key role in shaping its strategy and growth, helping build the company into one of the Sea to Sky Corridor's most trusted general contractors.

Growing up, she loved exploring open houses and discovering how thoughtful design could shape the way people lived. Time spent with her grandfather on his farm, where he was always building, fixing, and creating, sparked an early appreciation for craftsmanship and the value of building something that lasts.

With a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria, Shannon brings a strategic business perspective, leading long-term planning and helping guide the company's continued growth.

Outside of work, Shannon enjoys spending time with her family in the mountains, hiking, biking and strength training. She is passionate about entrepreneurship and enjoys connecting with and supporting women in business.

Why Choose Us

Choosing a contractor is about more than comparing prices. It's about knowing who's managing your project and whether they'll still be there when it's done.

A Single Point of Accountability
Construction projects involve many moving parts. We coordinate designers, consultants, permits, trades and schedules, so you always know who's responsible, where your project stands and what comes next.

Trades We Know and Trust
Years of working with the same trusted local trades, consultants and suppliers means we can assemble the right team for any project while keeping quality and scheduling consistent.

Local and Long-Term
Two decades in the Sea to Sky has taught us how to plan around mountain weather, local regulations and busy seasons. Most of our business comes from referrals and repeat clients who know we're still here after the final walkthrough.

Building Responsibly
Where practical, we reduce waste by repurposing and donating usable materials, source locally whenever possible and select durable products built to last. It's a practical approach that benefits our clients, our projects and the communities where we build.

“To say we were satisfied would be an understatement. I am a perfectionist and Jason’s attention to detail meets the highest standards. He communicates well throughout the entire project and is always open and willing to have our input. While incorporating our ideas, he uses his professional experience and knowledge to create the most attractive and functional design for our restaurant space. If there were any extra work to be done Jason and his team were prompt to start the project and finish it in a responsible and timely manner. He is thoughtful in all steps of the process. When he removed an old door/ wall in the heritage building we were renovating, he restored it to be an exquisite and meaningful art piece which we have hanging in our dining room. I highly recommend Jason and the Lorenz Development team for exceptional quality renovations.”

  • Rory Holland, Residential Client

    ★★★★★
“I have worked with a number of contractors over the years, with varying degrees of satisfaction. Jason Lorenz and his crew have exceeded all expectations. They have been incredibly professional, creative, and worked to a very high standard of quality. Any issues, which there have been oh so few, were dealt with quickly, without excuse. I cannot say enough good things about this company. This was a full rebuild after a catastrophic fire, they actually were the low bid - but working closely within the budget and liaising with the insurance company we managed to build back better than before. Thank you Jason and team.”

  • Elisa Langenstam, Stock Home Design & Décor

    ★★★★★
“It has been my pleasure to work with Jason on multiple projects during the years that our Design Company was based in Squamish. Jason consistently provided top quality, thoughtful and high impact work with outstanding attention to design details and results with Snowgoose being no exception. His communication is always excellent from the outset, and he is always willing to persevere until the best results are achieved. Obviously passionate about the work, he is a true professional. I would not hesitate to recommend his services for any scale of project.”
